This 1977 Harley-Davidson FXE Super Glide custom was created in the bobber style at Green Devil Garage of Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 2016 as a raffle prize for End 22, a non-profit organization that raises awareness of veterans’ mental-health issues. The bike is finished in green and black over a black frame and powered by an overbored Shovelhead V-twin mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes an S&S Cycle Super E carburetor and cylinder heads, a Belt Drives Ltd open belt drive, an Andrews Products camshaft and gearset, and a dual-caliper rear disc brake from SpeedKing Racing. This Shovelhead bobber is now offered in Texas by the selling dealer on behalf of the current owner with a clean Virginia title.
The fuel tank was fabricated with help from Yocum’s Signature Hot Rods in Sunbury, North Carolina. It and the rear fender were painted green and black with silver striping and End 22 graphics at 33 Kustom Kolor of Danville, Virginia. Other features include the following:
- 5¾” Drag Specialties headlight
- TC Bros chrome Bootlegger handlebar
- JayBrake hand and foot controls
- Brown leather solo saddle by Buttskinz Seats
- Oil tank from Anything Goes Custom Cycles
- Rear fender and drop-seat kit from SpeedKing Racing
- Sissy-bar-mounted 1940 Ford taillight replica
A brakeless 21″ front wheel is mounted on a 35mm hydraulic fork and wears an Avon Roadrunner AM20 tire. The rear swingarm is connected to dual chrome shocks and mounts a 16″ wheel that is wrapped in a Dunlop D402 tire and equipped with a four-piston dual-caliper Wilwood disc-brake setup from SpeedKing Racing.
The overbored Shovelhead V-twin is said to displace 80ci and was rebuilt using cylinder heads and internals from S&S Cycle along with a camshaft from Andrews Products. Other engine components include an S&S Super E carburetor and air cleaner and a pair of black exhaust pipes by Green Devil Garage that are heat-wrapped and brass-tipped. An odometer is absent, and the current owner estimates having added approximately 150 miles in four years.
Power is sent rearward through a four-speed manual transmission rebuilt with an Andrews Products gearset and replacement shafts and seals, as well as a Belt Drives Ltd open belt drive and a chain final drive.
